The most common item that we hear about concerning our environment is air pollution.

The use of fossil fuels such as coal, gas, and oil to heat our homes and to make electricity to cool our homes is an area of environmental impact that we are personally in control of; we can be wasteful or we can be conservative and lessen our personal impact on the environment.

We have markedly altered our environment during the last decade by our ever-increasing use of fossil fuel burning for electrical generation and transportation.

The stress that we place upon our environment and its effects are common topics in our media.
