INSULADD is a white ceramic insulating house paint additive that can be mixed into any ordinary exterior or interior house paint to create a radiant barrier, in effect making any paint "insulating paint."E-COAT is an Elastomeric roof coating that has earned ENERGY STAR® qualification.IX Paint is a high quality house paint pre-mixed with INSULADD® insulating additive.Thermal Block is a high quality metal tank and pipe insulating coating and rust inhibitor.
How to Add INSULADD® Insulating Additive to House Paint
The contents of the package of INSULADD® insulating house paint additive should be gradually stirred into the appropriate size container of house paint! (A one quart bottle of INSULADD® for a gallon of house paint or a 5 quart bottle of INSULADD® insulating additive for a 5 gallon pail of house paint. Mixing ratio is 4 parts house paint to 1 part INSULADD® insulating additive.)
DO NOT try to mix this package directly into your container of house paint as it will not all fit! It is best to get a second or larger container to use for mixing purposes. Simply pour your well-mixed container of house paint into the larger sized paint container and slowly stir in the INSULADD® insulating house paint additive, mixing thoroughly. Then paint as usual.
When you finish painting, any unused house paint can be stored back in its original paint can. Add the package of INSULADD® insulating house paint additive gradually to your house paint, while stirring to avoid clumping of the additive. Make sure to completely mix all of the INSULADD® insulating additive into your paint! Always stir your paint for a minute or two prior to commencing painting if the paint has been sitting for more than 2 hours since last used.
Spray painting with INSULADD®:
IMPORTANT: Remove the small cartridge filter from the spray gun prior to painting with INSULADD® treated house paint, since the filter will try and strain all of the INSULADD® insulating additive from the paint and will clog in the process. INSULADD® insulating additives will not harm paint sprayers! INSULADD® insulating additive for house paint will leave a mild texture to the surface to which it has been applied. This texture can be felt but is not usually visible unless INSULADD® insulating additive is being used in a high gloss finish where it tends to slightly flatten the paint gloss. Mildly textured wall coatings are very desirable since they hide numerous defects in a wall surface such as dents, small gouges, and other surface imperfections. This extra surface area also increases the paint's insulating performance. Follow your house paint manufacturer's instructions in regards to number of coats to apply, and follow clean up procedures. (We recommend 2 coats of paint containing INSULADD® insulating paint additive.) Adding INSULADD® insulating additive to Stucco Mixes:
It is best to get a second or larger container to use for mixing purposes. Simply pour your well mixed container of STUCCO MIX into the larger sized container and mix in the INSULADD® insulating paint additive slowly while stirring.
Add the INSULADD® insulating additive gradually to your STUCCO MIX while stirring to avoid clumping of the additive. Make sure to completely mix all of the INSULADD® insulating additive into your STUCCO MIX! SAFETY DATA Inhalation of large amounts of this product in its free powdered state could cause respiratory irritation, and a dust mask should be worn if working around large airborne concentrations of this product prior to mixing with paint. If eye irritation occurs, flush eyes with water, and if problems persist, consult a physician. The technology that we use in our ceramic insulating house paints and insulating house paint additives is not as simple as it may appear. We participated in a NASA Technology exchange program in 1996 to develop the INSULADD® line of insulating products. Many of our competitors thought that our product sounded like a great idea and have attempted to duplicate not only our products, but also our claims to NASA participation, and superior insulating qualities of our products. As you will see from the information on our website, we have numerous ASTM tests, NIL SPEC tests, ENERGY STAR® Qualification, and international approvals from a number of foreign countries. Please look for proper independent test data to support the claims made by manufacturers of products like ours. TECH TRADERS INC. |
